March 31, 2022: One of my best friends in the universe is a woman I met on the first day of high school, in the girls' bathroom; a reminder that love can strike anywhere, at any time. She recently did her first-ever childless trip, which, unsurprisingly, was a deep thrill and a wild rumination on what exactly parenthood means and does. Other beloveds were also in town (there was a wedding), with their delightful kids in tow, all of whom I gleefully tried to accommodate, including a cosmic conversation with a 7-week-old that made me rethink everything I thought I knew about my own uterus. So, child entertainers are top of mind, including Thyra Heder, who wrote a few magnificent books, including "Fraidyzoo," and happens to be a friend of a friend. (Photographer unknown)
